DESCRIPTION:Spend the day floating the Broad River and viewing the state-protected Shoal Spider Lily plants at Anthony Shoals. This event is a fundraiser for BRWA to support our water monitoring program\, public education\, and conservation efforts. The Broad River Watershed Authority encourages providing a $25 donation for participating. Meet at the Broad River Campground ($5 parking fee) at 8:30. Shuttle up to the put-in will leave promptly at 9:30am. Expect to be done by 3pm. Bring your own kayak or canoe\, or if you NEED a boat\, contact the Broad River Outpost at 706-795-3242. There is a 25-person limit and shuttle space is limited\, so submit your reservation soon at info@brwa.org. Bring your own food/snacks\, water\, sunscreen\, and life jacket (required to be on each boat for each person).If the event is rained out\, the float is rescheduled for May 16. Payments can be made via PayPal at www.brwa.org or bring cash on the day of the float.Follow the Facebook event page for updates.
