City of Hull Receives Chamber's Pro Business Partner Award

City of Hull Receives Chamber's Pro Business Partner Award

At their March 25th meeting, the City of Hull was awarded the Chamber's Pro Business Partner Award. Anna Strickland, Executive Director for the Madison County Chamber of Commerce, presented the award to the Council members on behalf of the Chamber's Government Affairs Committee.

Economic development is a team effort that involves constant collaboration and communication among the Chamber, the County, the IDBA, all municipalities, and other community partners. The Pro Business Partner Award recognizes entities that go above and beyond to foster a business friendly climate through a variety of avenues including but not limited to the implementation of innovative programming that positively impacts the community outside of typical governmental functions, enacting legislation that is conducive to business growth, or demonstrating high level collaboration with external partners that enables them to achieve goals that could not have been achieved alone otherwise.

The Government Affairs Committee is pleased to present the City of Hull with the Pro Business Partner Award namely for their recent partnership with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission to secure a Roadside Enhancement and Beautification Council (REBC) grant through the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The city was one of twenty-two recipients and was awarded $46,803.00 out of the possible $50,000.00 to improve a portion of Hull-Colbert Road along Highway 72 within the city limits of Hull. The funds may be used for approved landscape plant materials and labor costs.

Enhancing our community's main entryways promotes a positive community image and serves as an excellent first impression for any individual looking to support local businesses or for any potential new business interested in locating here. The positive impact of this project will also be felt statewide, as utilizing Georgia Grown materials is also a requirement for the REBC grant.

Congratulations to the City of Hull for this honor, and thank you for being an excellent partner in our local economic development efforts!
