Chamber Member Spotlight: Beck Farm Receives The Georgia Centennial Family Farm Award
The Madison County Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate Beck Farm for receiving the prestigious Georgia Centennial Family Farm award, recognizing over a century of dedication to Georgia’s agricultural heritage.
Established in 1993, the Georgia Centennial Farm Program honors family farms that have been maintained and operated for more than 100 years, preserving the state’s rich agricultural history. Since its inception, the program has recognized over 620 farms across Georgia and is administered by the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs in partnership with the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation, Georgia Department of Agriculture, Georgia EMC, the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, and University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Each year, qualifying farms are celebrated during opening day of the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia, where farm owners receive a certificate of honor signed by the governor.
Beck Farm, family-owned and operated by Jerry Beck and his daughters, Cyndi and Debra Beck, is a multigenerational farm and a cornerstone of Madison County agriculture. The farm produces a wide variety of vegetables and fruit alongside high-quality pork. They operate three greenhouses growing plants all season long, maintain three lots of pigs of various sizes and breeds, and cultivate an extensive variety of seasonal crops from corn and tomatoes to squash. Their products are often sold directly to the community at the Four-Way in Ila, next to Hometown Interiors, providing fresh, local food while supporting the county’s agricultural economy.
The Beck family has been an integral part of our agricultural community for generations.Their recognition as a Georgia Centennial Family Farm reflects their unwavering commitment to preserving farming traditions, supporting our local economy, and cultivating a strong sense of community.
Beck Farm’s recognition underscores the importance of family farms in maintaining Georgia’s agricultural heritage, and the Chamber congratulates them on this remarkable achievement.
