to MedLink Georgia Provider and Board Member.
May 3, 2022
Colbert, GA. (April 2022) - MedLink Georgia received two of seven awards given at the GPCA P.E.A.C.H. Awards Celebration Luncheon on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Georgia Primary Care Association honored Dr. Daniel Gordon with the Provider of the Year Award and William “Doug” Bridges as Community Health Center (CHC) Board Member of the Year. To be chosen for both awards is a huge honor, as they were chosen out of all their community health center peers across the state.
The CHC Provider of the Year recognizes a primary health care provider for outstanding services to individuals and exemplary efforts improving the health and well-being of the residents of his/her community. Dr. Daniel Gordon, a native of Hartwell, Georgia, moved back to his hometown to give back and make a difference. He demonstrates what it truly means to provide “patient-centered” care by advocating for each patient and family, partnering with his patients, meeting patients where they are, holding their hand, if necessary, and explaining health issues in a way that is simple and easy to understand. He is a model to many other providers and residents who work not only with MedLink Georgia but also in other family health centers throughout Georgia.
The CHC Board Member of the Year is awarded in recognition of a Board Member who has served with the dedication and commitment to devote time and effort to the Board on which they serve and has done so with a sense of conviction and dedication to the medically underserved residents of their service area. Doug Bridges, of Madison County, has served on MedLink Georgia’s Board of Directors for over 25 years. He has held every officer position and has sat on every subcommittee at one time or another. He mentors and supports his fellow Board members and finds multiple ways to encourage each Board member to get involved. His strong leadership and passion for Community Health and MedLink is infectious, and we are grateful to have such an outstanding Board Member in our corner.
The Georgia Primary Care Association is a member service organization representing the Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Georgia through the provision of training, technical assistance and the development and implementation of strategies to expand and strengthen the FQHC system.
