Madison County was featured in a special way in 2023 when country music artist Mackenzie Carpenter filmed her music video “Don’t Mess with Exes” at the iconic Billy Meadows Hotdog Station.

A Hull, Georgia native, Carpenter grew up visiting Billy Meadows and personally requested permission from owner Jean to film at the location. The choice made the production especially meaningful, blending her rising music career with a cherished piece of her hometown.

Carpenter is an American country musician and songwriter who has continued to gain national recognition. She has released two albums, Mackenzie Carpenter (2023) and Hey Country Queen (2025), and is also a platinum-selling songwriter. A graduate of Belmont University, she has built a strong career in country music while remaining closely connected to her North Georgia roots.

This unique moment highlights the special connection between Madison County landmarks and artists who call it home, showcasing the lasting impact of community and place in her journey.
