Polish Technician at SMI Composites

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing polish work on composite materials/surfaces, using appropriate equipment, power tools, and other related equipment. 


Summary of Essential Job Functions

Inspect parts to be processed; notify manager when imperfections are found before applying any refinish coatings.  Ability to see sanding and/or paint flaws, scratches, and imperfections.  Rubbing individual parts without burning through paint


Minimum Requirements

*  Ability to work a flexible schedule. Depending on production demands, schedule shifts and/or overtime may be required.

* Possess beginner to standard level of paint prep/ polish tools

* Paint equipment/product knowledge and ability to use (polisher/DA/compounds etc.) a plus

* Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.

* Ability light hand tools; manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.

* Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Good interpersonal communication and listening ability

* A strong ability to take direction from department lead and be adaptable and flexible

* Good decision-making skills

* Ability to work within a team environment

* Highly motivated, results oriented, and driven
