Sponsor a Child Served Through DFCS This Christmas
Sponsor a Child Served Through DFCS This Christmas
Dear Faith Based and Community Partners,
Believe it or not, it is time to begin planning for Christmas!
Madison County DFCS currently has 29 children who are in foster care and 53 children that are being served through family preservation from our community. For those children, Christmas can often not feel as joyous as it has in the past given, they are unable to spend the holiday with their families. Our staff try to ensure each child receives a few gifts on their wish list to bring them some excitement. For some, they will remain in a group home over the Holiday. For those with a foster family or relative placement, this partnership to ensure the children they are caring for have Christmas gifts is a tremendous support.
In order to ensure this is possible, we rely on community partners such as yourselves. We could not reach this goal for 70+ children without your support and generosity.
If your Church has Sunday School classes, Life Groups, Youth Groups, etc. who would like to partner with our agency to ensure the foster children in our community have a joyful Christmas, please contact me. If every Church in Madison partnered for our children, how wonderful would Christmas be!
Our staff will gather wish lists from our children and their caregivers during the month of October. We will then provide the lists to those sponsors at the start of November to ensure adequate time to make purchases. We will provide sponsors with days and times available for gift drop off at our office in Danielsville. This also allows our staff the beginning of December to deliver the gifts to the children’s caregivers so they will have them on Christmas day.
We appreciate your consideration and encourage you to contact us with any other questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Tabitha Willoughby
County Director
